Maya Byskov Gadegaard is a Berlin-based writer, cultural producer and sustainability strategist.

Over the past 10 years, I have curated and produced group- and solo shows at galleries, museums and project spaces, placing emphasis on experimental emerging practices, particularly interdisciplinary and context-led projects.

My curatorial work includes We Can Stay Here While We Wait - voices in the Anthropocene (2017) with Olafur Eliasson, Adam Jeppesen, Michelle Palazzi, Sissel Thastum, Clement Verger and Bärbel Praun, in the frame of the European Capital of Culture- Aarhus.   A World I can believe in (2016) Joakin Eskildsen, at the National Museum of Photograhy, Copenhagen.  I Plunge into Black Holes and emerge intact (2015) with Etel Adnan, Niko Luoma, Ola Kolehmainen, Adam Jeppesen, Mikko Sinervo and Niina Vatanen at Gallery Taik Persons. Displacement (2015) with Mikko Rikala, Tanja Koljonen, Jaana Maijala, Kalle Kataila at Gallery Taik Persons. Nordic participation at LOOP Festival (2013).  I have lead portfolio reviews at the Icelandic Photography Festival, ENCONTROS DA IMAGEM and the Thesaloniki Photobienalle.

As a writer, I have produced and contributed to numerous publications with publishers such as Hatje Cantz, Kehrer Verlag and Narayana Press as well as written essays for galleries and museums. 

In 2016, I founded an ethical womenswear label, which now lives on by the name of IISLE

I’m currently writing a collection of short stories.
